“Encens Chembur was named after the place where my mother grew up in India. Chembur was once a famous picnic area on the outskirts of Mumbai. Today it is overbuilt and not at all the same place. Despite that, there was a familiar smell in the streets: the scents of incense from the Hindu temples nearby. This became the heart of perfume.” - Ben Gorham, Perfumer
